Kevin Corrgian: Why Isn't He More Well Known?

Will Smith, Hugh Jackman, Michael Sheen, Javier Bardem and Kevin Corrigan. What do they have in common? They're all 44 and extremely talented. Want to know what's atrocious? Most of you will probably only recognise four out of the five names. They are all on around the same level talent-wise but for some reason one of them isn't a household name like the others. Kevin Corrigan. Some American readers may know him from the early noughties as he was a regular on the show Grounded For Life, but he initially made a name for himself in critically acclaimed Independent films, which is probably why audiences aren't familiar with him as they don't always get exposure.



However he has moved into more mainstream projects which is why I don't understand why he isn't as successful or as well known as his peers. In the past ten years alone he's worked on many Hollywood films, ranging from Comedy to Drama, and although he wasn't cast in big roles I would've assumed that he would have become more recognisable. I will give you a list on some of the things he has starred in over the past few years:

Superbad
American Gangster
Pineapple Express
Unstoppable
The Dictator
Seven Psychopaths

How many of you haven't heard any of these films? How many of you haven't watched any of these films? Exactly. The majority of them made over $100 million which shows that people have actively watched them so they probably know Corrigan's face, but they probably don't know who he is. As well as his film work he also has a constant presence on television, holding down recurring roles in Community and Mentalist and even having a somewhat significant role (maybe, who really knows) in the cult show Fringe. He's always had a presence on both the small screen and big screen so I think the question that I asked before "why isn't he as successful" is kind of untrue, to be working steadily in this industry is a success. I only wish for him to get more recognition, I've seen him in action and I think he truly deserves it.
